Lace Harding

Bi Characters

Lace Harding, also known as Scout Harding, first appeared in Dragon Age: Inquisition (2014) as a minor character, quickly becoming a fan favorite for her humor, charm, and down-to-earth nature. Initially serving as a scout and guide, Harding provided crucial information and support to the Inquisition while managing to leave a lasting impression despite her limited screen time. Her popularity among fans no doubt influenced her return in Dragon Age: The Veilguard (2024), where she steps into a main character role with a more central part in the story.

In The Veilguard, Harding takes on new responsibilities and faces unexpected challenges, including a mysterious magical ability that develops over the course of the story. As Rook’s steadfast companion, Harding is witty, clever, and deeply loyal, often grounding her friends during times of crisis. Her interactions with other characters continue to showcase her warmth and sharp sense of humor, as well as her resilience in navigating the shifting political and mystical landscapes of Thedas.

In The Veilguard, Harding’s pan/bisexuality is confirmed, a facet of her character that was left ambiguous in Inquisition. Now, players can pursue a romance with Harding regardless of the player character’s sex or gender identity, adding depth to her relationships and strengthening Dragon Age’s commitment to LGBT representation.

Lace Harding’s character, alongside Bellara Lutarte, Neve Gallus, Lace Harding, Lucanis Dellamorte, Emmrich, Davrin, Taash, and Rook, adds depth to Veilguard’s inclusive cast, exemplifying a broader spectrum of attraction and reinforcing the Dragon Age series’ commitment to rich, varied LGBT representation.
