Bi Characters

Davrin is a dedicated Grey Warden and elven warrior with a profound sense of duty, introduced in Dragon Age: The Veilguard (2024). As a skilled fighter and fiercely loyal to his cause, Davrin is deeply committed to protecting Thedas from the dangers posed by the Darkspawn — a threat that the Grey Wardens are uniquely sworn to combat. This commitment is personal for Davrin, who has suffered losses to the Blight and fights tirelessly to prevent others from experiencing the same pain. Notably, Davrin has a unique bond with Assan, a young griffin, and is on a mission to ensure the survival of this endangered species, which adds a layer of complexity to his character and underscores his compassionate side.

Davrin’s loyalty, however, is tempered by a willingness to challenge authority. Early in the story, he defies the First Warden, who is initially reluctant to aid Rook in stopping two unleashed elven gods, believing the Grey Wardens should remain focused on the Darkspawn threat. Davrin’s readiness to stand up for what he believes is right, even if it means going against his superiors, shows his courageous and resolute nature — qualities that make him a powerful ally and a memorable companion in Veilguard.

Davrin’s pan/bisexuality is an integrated aspect of his character in The Veilguard, allowing him to be romanceable by the player character regardless of their sex or gender identity. His identity is presented authentically, woven into his storyline and interactions with Rook in a way that feels both genuine and impactful. Davrin’s character, alongside Emmrich’sBellara Lutarte, Neve Gallus, Lace Harding, Lucanis Dellamorte, Taash, and Rook, add depth to Veilguard’s inclusive cast, exemplifying a broader spectrum of attraction and reinforcing the Dragon Age series’s commitment to rich, varied LGBT representation.
