Rita Ora is a British singer and songwriter known for her musical career. She has made various appearances in movies and television, with her most notable being Mia in 50 Shades of Grey.

Ora signed with Roc Nation in 2008, which led to her cameo in the Jay-Z music video, “Young Forever.” She gained popularity in 2012 at the release of her first album, Ora, which had three songs hit the top of the United Kingdom Singles Chart.

She was born in Pristina, now known as Kosovo. On July 10, 2015, she was named an Honorary Ambassador of Kosovo by the president at the time.

In 2018, Ora created the song “Girls”, featuring Cardi B, Charlie XCX, and Bebe Rexha. It is worth noting that Ora, Cardi B, and Bebe Rexha all contributed to the writing of the song as bi women.

This song came under fire in many queer circles. Hayley Kiyoko and Kehlani, both of whom are lesbians, claimed the song catered to the male gaze and contained problematic lyrics, overall being harmful to the LGBT community. Ora responded by saying "'Girls' was written to represent my truth and is an accurate account of a very real and honest experience in my life... I have had romantic relationships with women and men throughout my life and this is my personal journey."[14]

With an outpouring of support and agreeance from many bi women online, Ora still apologized for any harm her song may have caused the community or her fans.

In 2022, she was rumored to have eloped with Taika Waititi, creator of Our Flag Means Death.
