Bleta Rexha, known as Bebe Rexha, is an American singer and songwriter. She was born in 1989 in New York City to Albanian parents. Her birth name is Albanian for “bee”, which is how she eventually got the nickname of Bebe.

Rexha was very involved in music programs in high school, playing multiple instruments, and participating in both musicals and the choir. In 2010, she met Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, and became a member of the Black Cards, a new experimental project he was leading. She left the group in January 2012 to pursue her own solo career, signing with Warner Bros. Records in 2013 and beginning to write songs.

Some of her musical highlights include writing “The Monster” by Eminem featuring Rihanna; co-writing and chorus vocals of “Me, Myself, & I” by G-Eazy; co-writing and contributing vocals for “Hey Mama” by David Guetta; vocals on “Call You Mine” by the Chainsmokers; writing and vocals for “Meant To Be” by Florida Georgia Line; and writing and singing “I’m A Mess”.

Rexha has always been transparent with her fans. She has made statements labeling her sexuality as “fluid”, a term under the bi umbrella, and opening up discussions about her bipolar disorder.
