Che Diaz (played by #Bi2 Sara Ramirez) is a recurring character on the first seasons of the 20221 HBO Max, And Just Like That…, a comedy-drama focusing on the continuing adventures of three characters from the groundbreaking series, Sex And the City.

Che is a non-binary stand-up comedian and podcaster who proudly used the term “bisexual” to describe themselves. While Che is one of the most prominent characters in the show’s attempts to diversify the cast surrounding the white, cis-female main characters, their storyline and character development left many viewers wanting.

Although Che begins an affair with Miranda Hobbes and has enough of a moral center to stop the relationship once they realize Miranda has not told her husband about them, they also fulfill negative bi tropes previously presented in media — both seeming to be non-ethically promiscuous as well as describing themselves as a narcissist. This is a troubling addition to a series whose source material provided a slew of biphobic jokes, mindsets, and plot lines to popular culture.

Miranda and Che talk with serious expressions. they are dressed formally while at an event.
