Miranda Hobbes (played by #Bi2 Cynthia Nixon) is a fictional character in the 2021 HBO Max comedy-drama, And Just Like That..., which is a continuation of an original character of the same name from Sex and the City.

Miranda is a sarcastic but loving and progressive-minded high-powered lawyer who is one of the central supporting characters to the main character and sex writer Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker). Though often queer-coded by viewers in the original series, Hobbes for the duration of the series stated and pursued straight relationships.

In the first season of And Just Like That…, an older Miranda pursues and ultimately has an affair with nonbinary stand-up/podcaster Che Diaz (#Bi2 Sara Ramirez), which throws her long-standing marriage to Steve into upheaval. While Miranda explores her queer attractions, she rarely uses any terms under the Bi Umbrella to describe herself and is emotionally dishonest about her awakening with her current partner — a marked and controversial departure from the honest and forthcoming character viewers of the original series we had come to know and love.
