Max Wolfe (played by Thomas Doherty) is a part of the new queerer Gossip Girl universe based on the novel of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar. He is an unabashedly bi playboy who pursues everyone around him. He attempts to seduce his teacher, makes out with his best friend, Aki, and sleeps with his best friend’s girlfriend.
It is refreshing to see male bisexuality portrayed as such a non-issue. His friends are utterly unconcerned about Max’s sexual orientation. Unfortunately, he is also portrayed as hyper-sexual and as someone who uses sex to hide his deeper feelings.
