Akeno "Aki" Menzies (played by Evan Mock) is one of the main characters of the 2021 Gossip Girl reboot. Aki is the innocent of the ultra-rich friend group that dominates Constant Billard.

When the series starts, he is in a long-lived relationship with fellow student Audrey. The show opens with the two having unfulfilling sex and Audrey apologizing for it "taking her so long." Throughout the episode, it seems like their relationship is missing a spark. They are also good friends with shamelessly bisexual Max Wolfe, who is clearly attracted to both of them.

Max and Aki have an awkward scene in which they both change together while making intense eye contact with many close-up shots of rippling abs and bare skin. Max convinces Aki to go to a bathhouse with him and the two end up kissing, and it's pretty clear that he enjoys it.

Later Aki is pulled into another convoluted scheme that involves him downloading the dating app Scruff. It is revealed that not only did he play a part in catfishing Max's dad, but he ended up talking to some other men as well. It's unclear where this is all going, but it is safe to say that Aki is attracted to men and women.

In the midseason finale, things come to a head with Audrey accidentally outing Aki to his parents. Then Max, Aki, and Audrey finally have the threesome that had clearly been brewing for the last six episodes.
