Taylor Tomlinson
Famous BisTaylor Elyse Tomlinson is an American stand-up comedian, writer, and television host, known for her three stand-up comedy specials on Netflix: Have It All (2024), Look At You (2022) and Quarter-Life Crisis (2020).
Tomlinson grew up in Temecula, California, along with her three younger siblings, in a devout Christian family — an upbringing that has influenced parts of her comedy. She lost her mother to cancer at the age of eight.
Tomlinson began performing stand-up at 16 when her father enrolled them both in a comedy class. She started out in church basements, school events, and coffee shops. By 19, she committed to comedy full-time, transferring to a community college in the San Diego area to be closer to local clubs. Eventually, she left California State University San Marcos to focus entirely on her career in comedy.
She became a top-ten finalist on the ninth season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing (2015) and was named one of the “Top 10 Comics to Watch” by Variety at the 2019 Just for Laughs Festival. She has appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (2014-), Conan (2010-2021), and various Comedy Central productions. She developed a sitcom for ABC in 2017, but it was not picked up for a pilot. She performed a fifteen-minute set on an episode of the Netflix stand-up series The Comedy Lineup in 2018.
In 2020, she released her first Netflix special, Quarter-Life Crisis, after which she gained worldwide recognition. In 2021 she was placed at the Forbes 30 under 30 list. Tomlinson premiered her second Netflix special, Look At You (2022), and in 2023, it was announced that Tomlinson would host After Midnight (2024), a CBS revival of the former Comedy Central panel show @midnight.[1]
On her third Netflix Special titled Have It All (2024), she opened up about exploring her sexuality, discussing her recent experiences dating women.[2]
It’s scary to just say you’re bisexual, cause then someone’s always like, “f*ckin’ prove it. Here’s a picture of Margot Robbie, are you wet? Let me feel.”
