Tyler Okonma, known as Tyler, the Creator is a rapper and record producer. Despite living a straight-edge lifestyle, his music is known for being edgy and controversial.

Two of Tyler’s albums, Igor (2019), and Call Me If You Get Lost (2021) debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and each won Best Rap Album at the 2020 and 2022 Grammy Awards. Tyler is also a founding member of the alternative hip-hop collective Odd Future. Outside of music, Okonma has designed his own clothing line, along with select cover art for Odd Future. In 2024, he released Chromakopia, his eighth studio album, through Columbia Records, having been written, produced, and arranged entirely by Tyler to great commercial success. More recently, Tyler, the Creator has ventured into acting; he has a supporting role in the 2025 Oscar-nominated film Marty Supreme (2025), directed by Josh Safdie.

For many years, Tyler was assumed to be homophobic due to the frequent use of slurs in his music, though the rapper now has a reputation for lyrics about his attractions and sexual escapades involving both men and women.

When asked for some clarity on his sexual orientation in a GQ Magazine interview, he said, “I like girls — I just end up f*cking their brother every time.” This, as well as lyrics like, “I could fuck a trillion bitches, Every country I done been in, Men or women, it don’t matter, If I seen ’em, then I had ’em”, from the song “Wilshire”, confirms that Tyler is bisexual. Early in his career, Tyler was tight-lipped about his sexuality, but over time, he has opened up and disregarded what the haters may think.
