Tiffany Pollard

Famous Bis

Tiffany Pollard is a TV personality who first came into the public eye on season one of Flavor of Love (2006-). It was here that she originally got the stage name of “New York” by one half of the duo Public Enemy, Flavor Flav. She competed for a shot of love with the notorious hype man. While mainly known for her nickname “New York”, she also proclaimed the title of HBIC (Head Bitch in Charge).

After reaching the finals and vying for the affection of Flavor Flav, she ultimately lost to Hoopz. However, in a twist of fate, Hoopz and Flav’s relationship didn’t stand the test of time, leading to a second season of Flavor of Love. In a surprising turn, New York was brought back mid-season to compete once more, only to face defeat in the finale yet again. In hindsight, it might have been for the best, as New York’s vibrant personality and high-maintenance lifestyle proved challenging for Flav to handle, given her mood swings and demanding nature. Always a runner-up and never the winner of Flav’s heart.

The saga wasn’t finished for New York. VH1 offered her a chance at love in her own mansion, extravagantly decorated in pink, where she could freely indulge in chain-smoking throughout the house.

From 2006 to 2008, audiences followed New York’s quest to find her soulmate. Following two seasons on Flavor of Love and two seasons of I Love New York (2007-2020), the spinoffs persisted.

Tiffany Pollard further starred in New York Goes to Hollywood (2008), New York Goes to Work (2009), and Brunch with Tiffany (2017-). From her growing reality TV appearances, she also has been on Botched (2014-), Celebrity Big Brother (2018-), College Hill: Celebrity Edition (2022-), The TS Madison Experience (2021-), Hot Haus (2022-), Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn (2016), Famously Single (2016-2017), and one-shot appearances on Maury (1991-2022), Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2003-), Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School, Nip/Tuck (2003-2010), Chelsea Lately (2007-2014), The Next: 15 (2016), Sharknado 5: Global Swarming (2017), The Eric Andre Show (2012-), a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race (2009-), and a laundry list of more.

Her most recent show being House of Villains (2023-). The series, hosted by Joel McHale, features 10 of reality television’s most memorable and notorious villains competing for a $200,000 cash prize and the title of America’s Ultimate Supervillain.

The birth of House of Villains showed the world that nobody had forgotten about New York. If you weren’t around for Flavor of Love, her meme lives on.

New York, who, during her early days on Flavor of Love, was known for saying many homophobic things and accusing many of the other contestants of being lesbians, seemed to grow and unlearn a decent amount of the toxic things she once spewed.

In 2022, she became the host of a show on OutTV called Hot Haus, which is the search for the next queer sex symbol.

On March 27, 2023, Pollard advocated for queer people in a TikTok video on OutTV’s page. She ended the video with her coming out as queer as well.
