Snow Tha Product

Famous Bis

Claudia Alexandra Madriz Meza, known professionally as Snow Tha Product, is a Mexican American rapper, singer, actress, and podcaster from San Jose, California. Born on June 24, 1987, she has made a name for herself in the hip-hop industry with her rapid-fire delivery and unparalleled bilingual lyricism. She rose to prominence through her independent grind (she produces her own beats even today) but has also collaborated with major record labels, cultivating a loyal fanbase through her music, social media presence, and advocacy for LGBT visibility.

Snow Tha Product was born to Mexican immigrant parents. She grew up surrounded by mariachi music thanks to her father and grandfather, mariachi musicians who migrated from the state of Michoacan in Mexico. By age six, she was already performing in school talent shows and later joined her grandfather’s mariachi ensemble in Redwood City. However, her musical tastes expanded when she moved to San Diego, where she discovered hip-hop and began freestyling with friends.

After graduating from Mira Mesa Senior High School, Snow briefly attended San Diego Mesa College, intending to become a social worker. She dropped out to pursue music full-time, adopting the stage name “Snow White Tha Product” — later shortened to Snow Tha Product — inspired by the Disney character.

Her career began in 2007 with the release of her first compilation album titled Verbal Assault Vol. 1, which was recorded as a collaboration project with local artists and launched under her label, Product Entertainment LLC. She followed this with her first solo mixtape, Raising Tha Bar: Tha Mixtape (2008), and Verbal Assault Vol. 2 (2009).

It wasn’t until 2010 when her career really took off with the mixtape Run Up or Shut Up, which included the viral hit “Drunk Love”, whose music video gained traction on Mun2, a popular Latino music channel, helping her gain more recognition. The next year, she released, as an independent, her debut album Unorthodox, which re-released “Drunk Love” as a single. But it was her brief freestyle “Holy Shit” (2011) that truly catapulted her into the spotlight, being featured on 50 Cent’s platform, ThisIs50.com and leading to interest and offers from major record labels.

Snow then signed with Atlantic Records and entered a new expansive phase, releasing the critically acclaimed mixtape Good Nights & Bad Mornings (2012) and the sequel title Good Nights & Bad Mornings 2: The Hangover (2013) in which she collaborated with a wide arrange of artists like Tech N9ne, The Cataracs, and Ty Dolla Sign. At this time, she also released several features with artists like DJ Paul, Krizz Kaliko, and Lupe Fiasco. She even ventured into acting, appearing in the USA Network series Queen of the South as the character of Lil’ Traviesa (Lil’ T). Unfortunately, her later releases under Atlantic, including Half Way There… Pt. 1 (2016), did not achieve the commercial success she had hoped for, leading her to part ways with the label in 2018.

Going back to her independent roots, she released the VIBEHIGHER mixtape (2018) and began touring extensively. It was in 2021 when she earned her first Latin Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Song for her collaboration with Argentine producer Bizarrap on “BZRP Music Sessions #39.” The following year, she released her second studio album, To Anywhere (2022), her first solo project in five years. The album featured collaborations with artists like Lauren Jauregui, Santa Fe Klan, and Juicy J. Additionally, she contributed to the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack with the track “La Vida,” featuring E-40.

Snow has been open about her struggles and triumphs, as well as her bisexuality. She was married from 2006 to 2016 and has a son, Andrew “Drew” Feliciano Jr. (born 2010). She began dating Julisa “JuJu” Aponte in 2017, and the couple announced their engagement in 2019 before parting ways in 2022. She is currently in a relationship with writer and blogger Stephanie Marie.

Snow has also been very transparent about her ADHD, explaining how it fuels her creativity and work ethic, and how it was her mental health struggles as a teen that led her to wanting to be a social worker seeking to help provide access and opportunities to young people struggling like she did. She’s spoken about her music and how it has been a way for her to try and make an impact with her fans, as well as her social media presence, aiming to start conversations about difficult topics like these.

With nearly 400 million YouTube views, multiple charting projects, and a fiercely independent career trajectory, Snow Tha Product has carved out a unique space in hip-hop with her authenticity, lyrical prowess, and her openness about being an incredibly creative and resilient bi woman who keeps building her success.
