Shannon Purser is an American actress. She made her acting debut in the Netflix drama series Stranger Things as Barbara “Barb” Holland, and portrays Ethel Muggs in The CW’s teen drama series, Riverdale.

In April 2017, she came out as bi on Twitter and has continued to show her pride.

Very humbled to have been a part of the MyPower campaign for @netflix alongside some incredibly talented, kind, and inspiring queer folks. If you know me, you know I’m kind of a private and introverted person. I’m probably not the first person you’d think of when you hear “Out and Proud.” I’ve dealt with anxiety and shame my whole life that has kept me from loving and accepting myself. But I want that to change. It’s a long process, but I’m trying to be more intentional about opening up and using my voice for good, even when it scares me. So, hey. I’m bisexual and I am proud. Happy Pride, everyone. Happy Pride to the “loud and proud”, to those who still struggle, and to those who aren’t out yet for whatever reason. You are valid. You are not alone.
