McAfee Westbrook

McAfee Westbrook, played by Laura Dreyfuss, is one of the major supporting characters in the Netflix YA satirical dramedy The Politician. 

McAfee is a whip-smart campaign staffer to Payton, quick with the political pivots and even quicker with the quips. Her role as a type of consigliere often equates to a modern version of the Greek chorus, telling the characters and audience of new plot developments. She resents that she gets seen as lacking in individuality when paired with her other senior staffer, James.

McAfee starts a secret love affair with one of her campaign’s political rivals, Skye. She does not talk much about her sexuality, but it is presumed from a cutting remark from Skye about her “not knowing her way around a woman’s body” that this is her first same-sex affair.
