Diana Allers

Bi Characters

Diana Allers is a supporting character in Mass Effect 3 (2012), the final entry in the original Mass Effect trilogy. She is a human war correspondent who joins the Normandy SR-2 as an embedded journalist, documenting the crew’s role in the galactic war against the Reapers. Importantly, Allers is romanceable by both male and female Commander Shepard, establishing her as a bisexual character within the series.

Before the events of Mass Effect 3, Allers made her career as a rising media figure in the Systems Alliance, known for her candid reporting style and her work on Alliance News Network (ANN). She brings with her both a professional reputation and a sharp, ambitious personality. Her decision to embed aboard the Normandy represents not only a personal risk but also a statement about the importance of transparency and narrative in wartime, ensuring the galaxy witnesses the struggles and sacrifices of Shepard’s campaign.

Aboard the Normandy, Diana Allers conducts interviews with Shepard and comments on the political and cultural dimensions of the Reaper War, offering an outsider’s lens on military and interspecies dynamics. Depending on Shepard’s interactions with her, she may become more personally involved, including the option for a romance arc. While her role is not central to the war effort, she provides narrative framing and highlights the theme of media influence during existential conflict.
