Ryan Buell is a television host and paranormal investigator who has appeared on a variety of ghost hunting shows.

He was the main host and one of the creators of A&E ‘s Paranormal State (2007-2011). The show follows the Paranormal Research Society, a student-run club at the University of Pennsylvania, which Buell co-founded. Buell and his partners decided to end the show in order to pursue other projects.

In his memoir, Paranormal State: My Journey Into the Unknown (2010), Buell discusses his bisexuality and his difficulties in reconciling his sexual orientation with his Catholic faith.

Buell has also opened up about his struggles with addiction and substance abuse.
