Michelle Rodriguez
Famous BisMichelle Rodriguez is an American actress. She’s best known for playing Letty Ortiz in the Fast and Furious franchise, and has starred or co-starred in dozens of action blockbusters. Born in San Antonio, Texas, Rodriguez’s diverse upbringing saw her living in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Jersey City, New Jersey. She left high school early but later earned her GED and briefly attended business school before embarking on an acting career.
Rodriguez’s debut role was as the lead character, a female boxer in the independent film Girlfight (2000). The film received critical acclaim, earning her several awards, including the Independent Spirit Award and the Gotham Award for Best Debut Performance. Her breakthrough came the following year when she starred as Letty Ortiz in the blockbuster The Fast and the Furious (2001), a role she reprised in six additional films in the franchise.
In addition to her film career, Rodriguez made a significant impact on television, portraying Ana Lucia Cortez in the second season of the hit series Lost (2004–2010). Over the years, she has amassed over 50 acting credits. A 2013 Entertainment Weekly article described Rodriguez as “arguably the most iconic actress in the action genre, as well as one of the most visible Latinas in Hollywood.” In the same article, she was quoted saying,

Rodriguez has appeared in notable films such as Resident Evil (2002), “S.W.A.T.” (2003), Avatar (2009), and Machete (2010). She also lent her voice to various video games and animated projects, including Halo 2 and Turbo. Off-screen, she is known for her adventurous spirit and advocacy for environmental and social causes, engaging in activities such as tactical gun training, skydiving, and DJing.
