About Me

Writer | Poet | Independent Curator [Literary-Film-Video] | Shelter/Animal Rights Advocate | VeganrnrnI am a Filipina American poet and independent literary/film and video curator living in Los Angeles. rnI am also the founder and director of Bark & Purr Alliance Fund, a not-for-profit group established to provide mini-grants to qualified rescues, independent rescuers and private adopters earmarked to cover pull fees and expedite animal rescue efforts deemed “last chance” emergency cases. Funding priority is given to geriatric (13 yrs – up) rescues, life threatening injury cases and limited income individuals and families who need assistance with their terminally ill pets. rnIn addition to financial support, Bark & Purr also assists with ongoing advocacy efforts championing good quality of life solutions for senior and geriatric aged pets in the City and County of LA shelters. Bark & Purr also participates in the larger cross-posting community that use social media to vigorously network super senior/geriatric aged dogs and cats in the local LA County & City Shelter System.

What Being Bi Means to Me

Not being fastened to why or who I choose to spend my time with.

If the World Knew About Bisexuals

Binaries dont apply

My Path to Bisexual Identity

I actually prefer identifying as queer…its seems a more progressive and inclusive “label” if one is required to provide it.

The Toughest Thing About Being Bi

Gaining acceptance from the lesbian and gay men’s community, especially if one has an opposite sex partner and constantly being challenged as not “queer” but rather heterosexual to the core.

The Best Thing About Being Bi

Allowing oneself to choose who or what, where and when.

How People Reacted When I Came Out

a) “really?”rnb) “but you have a boyfriend/husband, you date men!”rnc) cool! d) you’re committing a sinrne) have you actually been with a woman?
