About Me

Hello! I am a graduate student in clinical psychology, currently with my master’s degree in clinical psychology. I am an activist, often protesting against the Drug War. I am also a researcher of psychedelic culture and recently presented a scientific poster at the 2013 Psychedelic Science conference in Oakland, CA. I am involved with a group at UPenn called Theorizing Psychedelics. I specialize in Play Therapy and I mainly want work with children ages 3-5; I currently work in community mental health.

What Being Bi Means to Me

It means that I like you, not your gender or sex.

If the World Knew About Bisexuals

That we are all unique and different, with different lifestyles and preferences.

My Path to Bisexual Identity

I first came out in grad school in Chicago about 5 years ago. When I say “came out” I mean it was the first time I announced to a group of professionals that I was bisexual. My friends mostly already knew. Shortly after, about 1 year after, I came out to my family. I have always liked woman and men…. for my whole life, or for as long as I can remember.

The Toughest Thing About Being Bi

When people who identify as gay tell me I am just confused. Oh that really gets me.

The Best Thing About Being Bi

Just being open and accepting I think. I really love being able to appreciate the beauty of masculinity and femininity and celebrate them both.

How People Reacted When I Came Out

It turned out that no one really cares that much and that most people already knew. I had one professor at my school make some comments that were odd but I think he was trying to be supportive in an awkward way.
