She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not

Bi Media

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not is the fourth episode of the 2021 Netflix anthology series Feels Like Ishq. The short film manages to cram a whole lot of bi culture and a very sweet love story into a quick and easy 25 minutes.

Muskaan is bi and she knows it. In fact she breaks the fourth wall, looks directly into the camera and says, “Hi, I’m Muskaan. I’m 23, and I’m bisexual.” She might not be totally out, but there is not a doubt in her own mind that she is bi.

The movie is absolutely not shy about the fact that Muskaan is bi. Not only does she just say it, almost every scene features the colors of the bi flag, bi lighting, or both. Sometimes it’s subtle and sometimes it isn’t, but it’s always there.

At work she develops a crush on a woman, Tarasha, and suddenly needs to go from knowing her own bisexuality to figuring out how to actually pursue a relationship with another woman. Watching her navigate her crush is both adorable and profoundly relatable.
