Sometimes a work of art will make a subtle nod to bisexuality, and that’s awesome, and then there’s Domo Wilson’s 2019 song “Bisexual Anthem”.
She states is loud and clear
Yeah, I’m bi, I’m bi
And I like ’em both, I got pride
Yeah, I’m bi, I’m bi
I’m the B in this, you know why (yeah)
There really is no arguing with it.
In addition to proudly declaring the singer’s bisexuality, it mentions a lot of the hurdles and confusion that folks can face when first discovering their sexuality and coming out. Wilson raps about the discrimination that is faced by both straight and queer communities, her own confusion when being attracted to a girl and then a boy, and the pressure to “pick up a side.” Happily, the upbeat song cuts through all this nonsense by proudly declaring her bisexuality.
