Viktor Hargreeves (Elliot Page) is one of seven children with superpowers adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves in the Netflix original series The Umbrella Academy (2019-2024). Viktor (or Number Seven) was previously referred to as Vanya Hargreeves, as he is a transgender character.
In season one, the audience believes that Viktor has no powers, but we learn that he is the most powerful Hargreeves sibling and that his father used drugs to suppress his abilities. It is not until Viktor enters a romantic relationship with one of her violin students, Leonard Peabody, that he starts learning about missing memories of his past and experiencing surges of telekinetic and sound-based related outbursts that damage and affect his surroundings.
Through sinister methods, Leonard tries to get Viktor to unlock his powers until he pushes Viktor too far and meets an untimely death. His awakening comes with emotional states that are hard to control, and after an altercation with his sister, Allison, Victor fatally wounds her, starting a series of events that will lead to a full-on confrontation with his siblings and ultimately to a world-ending event.
Fortunately, the remaining members of the Umbrella Academy travel back in time to escape and save themselves. Although Five’s powers are imperfect, and Victor ends up stranded in 1963 while experiencing a bout of amnesia.

Disoriented, Viktor walks into the street and gets hit by a car driven by Sissy Cooper. He loses his memory in the accident, and the Cooper family takes him in. Sissy and him fall in love, but Sissy’s husband Carl finds out about their relationship and tries to throw Viktor out. However, Carl dies later in an accident, allowing for Sissy and Vikctor to finally be together.
He is then contacted by his siblings and is brought back into the team, playing a crucial role in preventing other world-ending crises throughout history. In later seasons, Viktor continues to grow into his role as both a hero and his true self. In season three, he officially comes out as transgender, with his siblings and the narrative fully embracing his identity, shifting fully from Vanya to Viktor.
This personal transformation parallels his increasing control over his immense powers as he works alongside his family to navigate new apocalyptic threats, including the collapse of the universe, ultimately helping to rewrite reality to create a better world.
