Ronit Krushka

Bi Characters

Image /Bleecker Street

Ronit Krushka is the main character of the 2018 drama Disobedience. Ronit is a New York photographer who returns home to her Orthodox Jewish neighborhood in London when learning her estranged father, the rabbi, has passed. Ronit is played by Rachel Weisz.

Ronit was originally shunned from the community due to her childhood attraction to Esti (Rachel MacAdams), which gets reunited when she comes back into town. However, Ronit is also seen burying her grief in a bathroom stall sex with a man before flying home. Since Ronit is free from her homophobic past to act and mourn as she pleases ― and with whom she chooses ― this is a deliberate nod to her bisexuality.
