Æon Flux is an acrobatic secret agent from Monica working to infiltrate the city of Bregna, which is led by her arch-nemesis and sometimes-lover Trevor Goodchild.
The show is set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian future in which the cities of Monica and Bregna are engaged in a never-ending and futile war for ideological supremacy.
Æon is overtly sexual and dresses like a dominatrix. The entire show was very stylish with the short episodes featuring no intelligible speech and very stylized animation.
Kink, sex, sexuality, and gender are all played with extensively in the show. Although most of the many sexual encounters are heterosexual, Æon does have a brief relationship with a female translator as well. In the freewheeling sexual universe of Æon Flux, it's hard to imagine that most of the characters aren't in fact bi.
