Schitt’s Creek
Bi MediaSchitt’s Creek (2015-2020) is a Canadian sitcom about a wealthy family that loses everything and is forced to move to a tiny backwater town without the comforts they are accustomed to.
David Rose (Dan Levy) initially reads as gay to other characters and viewers. His best (only) friend Stevie and him end up having a brief fling. After their first night, Stevie (Emily Hampshire) tries to figure out what exactly David’s sexual orientation is, leading to one of the most iconic scenes of the show.
Eventually, Stevie and David realize that they are better off as friends. They both briefly date the same man, Jake (Steve Lund), before David meets and dates Patrick (Noah Reid). The series finale includes the incredible wedding of David and Patrick.
In 2020 the sixth and final season was nominated for 15 Primetime Emmy Awards, breaking the record for nominations for a comedy series. It was also the first-ever comedy to sweep the four acting categories.
