Poe Dameron, played by Oscar Isaac, is a major character in the final trilogy of the Skywalker saga of the Star Wars films, taking on a heroic lead role in Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens (2015), Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi (2017), and Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

Dameron is a swashbuckling fighter pilot, considered the best flyboy in the Rebel Resistance. A brilliant strategist in battles, sometimes his confidence crosses over into arrogance, which can jeopardize missions as he questions the authority of his superiors.

Throughout the trilogy, Poe uses his easy charm to flirt with many people, including a former partner in crime, Zorii Bliss (Keri Russell), from his notorious days as a spice runner. Poe also has undeniable chemistry with First Order defector Finn (John Boyega), which reads as much more than just battle-tested camaraderie.

Poe gives Finn his new name to replace the serial number given to him by the First Order, and acts jealous when it looks like Finn is about to declare an enduring love for their common friend, Rey (Daisy Ridley). Unfortunately, this connection with Finn does not really get fully explored, which led to accusations of queerbaiting to the creators of the episodes.
