Maze or Mazikeen is one of the Lilim, a daughter of Lilith, and the henchwoman and on-again-off-again lover of Lucifer Morningstar. Her name comes from the Hebrew term Mazzikin (מַזִּיקִין), which translates as "dangers" or "those who harm," and is used in the Talmud to refer to harmful demons that a person could encounter in daily life.

Maze first appeared in Neil Gaiman's The Sandman series and made the leap when DC Vertigo spun off Lucifer into its own comic and, later, television show. After serving for eons as Lucifer's head torturer of the wicked, Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) follows Lucifer (Tom Ellis) when he rejects his post as ruler of Hell and moves up to Earth. After the two settle into their new lives, Maze works as head bartender at Lux (Latin for light), an elite Los Angeles bar that Lucifer opened. From the beginning of the TV series, Maze appears to be actively bi. We regularly see her bring women home to share with Lucifer.

In season 4, we finally get to see a more romantic side to Maze's bisexuality. While helping Eve recover from her breakup with Lucifer, Maze falls in love with her. The situation leads to many attempts by Maze to declare her true feelings, all of which Eve totally misinterprets:

When Eve leaves at the end of season 4, saying she needed time to be on her own, Maze is heartbroken and carries that grief into season 5. In season 5, part 1, we are left wondering if they will finally make up in part 2.

The Netflix series ends and Maze finally ties the knot with Eve and has a heartfelt talk with God, who tells her that while he can't give her a soul, maybe she could grow one.
