Max

Max (played by Jessica Parker Kennedy) is a prostitute on Nassau. At the beginning of the show, she is also Eleanor Guthrie’s lover. Through various pirate machinations on everyone’s part, Eleanor and Max’s relationship end and Max ends up “paying off a debt” by servicing Vane’s crew. 

Anne Bonny, who herself was abused by her former husband, attempts to protect Max and eventually, Max seduces Anne. She later becomes part of a triad with Anne Bonny and Jack Rackham. 

Her fortunes rise and fall throughout the show and she briefly takes over Eleanor Guthrie’s role as the merchant queen of Nassau. Max’s various relationships tend to break under the pressure of pirate politics, but in the end, it seems as if Anne and Max reconcile.
