Catwoman, also known as Selina Kyle, is one of the best-known villains/antiheroes of the DC Universe.

She has appeared in numerous franchises and has been played by actresses including Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway, Zoë Kravitz, and of course Eartha Kitt.

Catwoman is a Gotham City cat burglar who uses a bullwhip for a weapon. She was originally characterized as a supervillain and adversary of Batman. Since the 1990s she has been portrayed more as an antihero. In nearly every iteration of the character, there has also been a romantic tension between Batman and Catwoman.

She has been a popular character since her creation but was forced to take a hiatus from 1954 to 1966 due to the Comics Code Authority. The code was not a fan of how she was portrayed as a female villain.

Throughout her existence, Catwoman has had varying degrees of romantic relationships with Batman/Bruce. There have been multiple story arcs in which Selina and Bruce date separately from their masked alter-egos.

In Catwoman #39, Selina Kyle shares a kiss with Eiko Hasigaway (dressed as Catwoman), thus finally confirming her bisexuality.

She is recently portrayed by Zoë Kravitz in The Batman (2022), picking up on her old dynamic with Bruce Wayne and is scheduled to appear with two more of DC's bi villains, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, in the announced Gotham City Sirens film.
