Angèle Van Laeken, known professionally as Angèle, is a Belgian singer, songwriter, and actress.
She released her debut single, La Loi de Murphy, in 2017, which quickly became a viral hit in France and Belgium. She released her debut album, Brol, in 2018.
Angèle is known for her activism on social and political issues, including feminism, LGBT rights, and climate change.
In 2023, she received the Female Artist of the Year award at the Victoires de la Musique ceremony in Paris, where she was also awarded the Most Streamed Album award for her sophomore release Nonante-cinq la suite (2021).
Angèle is openly bi. In a 2019 interview with the French magazine Têtu, she confirmed her bisexuality and discussed how her songwriting often reflects her personal experiences and relationships with both men and women.
