Cynthia Bond
Famous BisCynthia Bond is a writer, best known as the New York Times Best-Selling author of Ruby (2014).
Bond was born in Texas and won a journalism scholarship to Northwestern University. She then studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.
She spent 10 years working on her massive manuscript for her debut novel Ruby. Her mother and agent convinced her to divide the book into a trilogy and the first part was published in 2014. Ruby spent six weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list and was selected for Oprah’s Book Club 2.0.
Bond is currently working on the next installment.
In a 2015 interview with After Ellen, she was very clear about the fact that she is bi.[1]
I’m a bisexual woman, my partner and I have been together for five years. I met her at the Center. We have kids, we have promise rings, we want to get married. That’s my life!
In 2011, Bond founded the Blackbird Writing Collective. She has taught writing to at-risk and homeless youth at the Los Angeles LGBT center for over 15 years and is on staff at Paradigm Malibu Adolescent Treatment Center.
