Sir Michael Philip Jagger, better known as Mick Jagger, is best known for being the lead singer of the Rolling Stones, one of the most successful rock bands of all time. Together, guitarists Keith Richards and Mick Jagger wrote most of the Rolling Stones' songs. In addition to his career with the Rolling Stones, Jagger had a successful solo career including the hit duet “Dancing in the Street” with David Bowie in 1985.

In 1989 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in 2004 he was added to the UK Music Hall of Fame with the Rolling Stones, and in 2003 he was knighted for his services to popular music.

As a member of the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger became an icon of the counterculture in the 1960s, known for his drug-related arrests, shamelessly sexy performances, taking part in anti-Vietnam War demonstrations, and his gender-bending fashion.

He famously was (unofficially) married to model Jerry Hall and had an affair with singer/model Carla Bruni (future First Lady of France). In addition to his very well-advertised relationships with models, singers, and dancers.

Referencing Jagger’s very queer energy, Philip Norman wrote “[W]hile [Presley] made girls scream, [he] did not have Jagger’s energy to make men feel uncomfortable.”[1]

There was always speculation that Jagger was bi. This became more intense when he started spending time with David Bowie. The two seemed to enjoy the stir they were causing and were often spotted out and about together without any female companionship. Numerous women claimed to have had threesomes with both men and said that the two were clearly into one another. In her book, David Bowie’s ex-wife, Angie Bowie, wrote that she believed that the two had had sexual interactions although it was not a “big love affair”.

In her 2022 book The Stone Age: Sixty Years of the Rolling Stones, music journalist Lesley-Ann Jones claims that Mick Jagger is indeed bi and many of the people in his life have known. In the book, both Keith Richard’s ex-partner Anita Pallenberg and Mick Jaggers' ex Marianne Faithfull stated that the two had had a relationship with one another.

Although there are many tales of Mick Jagger’s bisexual exploits, he has never directly addressed the rumors one way or the other.
