Lisbeth Salander (played by Noomi Rapace in the original Swedish trilogy, then Rooney Mara and Claire Roy in the American iterations) is the main character of the mystery-thriller The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, based on the Millenium Series novels by Stieg Larsson.

She is an introverted but genius-level hacker with a deeply goth aesthetic. Lisbeth uses these skills to help a disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist solve the mysterious disappearance of a young woman.

During the first installment, Lisbeth engages in a sexual relationship with Blomkvist as they investigate the case, with her initiating the encounter. Before their intimacy, Blomkvist observes Lisbeth with a girlfriend at home in her apartment.
