Klaus Hargreeves, played by Robert Sheehan, also known as Four or Séance, is one of seven childhood superheroes in the Netflix original series The Umbrella Academy based on the comic book of the same name by Gerard Way, from the band My Chemical Romance.
His superpower, the ability to talk to the dead, tortures him throughout his life, impacts his mental health, and drives him to use drugs and alcohol to numb the voices. Klause often steals the scene with his witty quips, antics, and wild fashion.
In season one, Klaus falls in love with Dave when he accidentally travels to 1968. He refers to Dave as “the only person I love more than I love myself”. When asked about Klaus’ love interest, his brother inquires, “what’s her name”. His brother seems unphased when Klaus replies, “his name was Dave”. In season two, we learn that Klaus is involved in frequent orgies with men and women.
