Black Cat (Felicia Sara Hardy) is a cat burglar and villain in the Marvel universe. She is mainly the nemesis, love interest, and sometimes ally of Spider-Man.
She is the daughter of an accomplished cat burglar who taught her his trade. After a traumatic event in college, Felicia learns to defend herself by learning various fighting styles and acrobatics. In addition to these skills, she has the ability to influence probability fields, causing "bad luck" in others.
The character was originally a supervillain and adversary of Spider-Man, but over time the two fell in love, which motivated her into becoming both an antihero and his partner. However, their relationship grew complicated after it became apparent that Black Cat was only attracted to the alter ego of Spider-Man and had little interest in the hero's civilian life as Peter Parker. After their break-up, Black Cat maintained her role as one of Spider-Man's most trusted allies and for years the pair shared an on-again, off-again romance before she eventually lapsed back into her criminal ways.
In MC2, an alternate timeline in the Marvel universe, Felicia has given up her life of crime. She is now a divorced PI with two children who is in a romantic relationship with her coworker Diana.
