Adam Alvaro, played by Tyler Posey, is Jane Villanueva's first love on the CW show Jane the Virgin.
He is introduced in season 4 where we learn that Jane and Adam once dated and even were considering getting married. Jane's family scared Adam off because they thought that she was too young to marry. They reconnect in season 4 and have a fairly serious relationship.
When Jane introduces Adam to Lina and Lina's new fiancé, the couple accidentally out Adam.
The next few episodes focus on Jane's own self-doubt and insecurity. Eventually, she comes to terms with Adam's bisexuality and he explains a lot of the stigma that he has faced as a bi person. Later in season 4, Jane and Adam break up for reasons unrelated to his sexuality.
