Eve Polastri is the eponymous main character from the BBC America dramedy, Killing Eve. The show is based on the Villanelle novels by Luke Jennings. Eve is played by Sandra Oh.

Eve is a smart and ambitious MI5 agent who offers uncanny insights into her work hunting down international threats. In the series, she finds herself fixated on a new subject, the elusive but complex assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer).

While she has a husband, Eve’s fascination with Villanelle holds sexual underpinnings as the two enter an international game of cat-and-mouse. Eve does not embody many of the hurtful bi stereotypes previously displayed on television but instead is a nuanced character — especially rare for a queer woman of color. It is also noteworthy that Oh won a Golden Globe for her performance, being the first Asian-American woman to do so.
