Horace
Famous BisQuintus Horatius Flaccus, more commonly known as Horace, was a Roman poet. Despite his modest background, Horace received a good education and went on to become one of the most influential poets of the Augustan Age.
Horace is best known for his Odes, a collection of lyrical poems that celebrate the joys of life, love, and friendship. He also wrote satires and epistles, in which he criticized the vices and follies of Roman society and offered moral advice to his readers.
While Horace’s personal life is not well-documented, some scholars have suggested that he was bi. In his poetry, Horace frequently expresses admiration for both men and women, and some of his poems address male lovers in language that suggests a romantic or sexual relationship. However, it is important to note that attitudes towards sexuality in ancient Rome were very different from those of modern Western society, and the concept of sexual orientation as we understand it today did not exist.
