Les

Les is a supporting character in the 2000 cheerleader comedy and cult classic, Bring It On. Les is played by Huntley Ridder. He is one of the few male cheerleaders on the Toros, a Southern California high school squad.

While Les never uses any of the terms under the bi umbrella to describe his sexuality, he describes it as “controversial” ― which, considering the time of the film’s release, leaves it up to interpretation. We do see his acceptance amongst his friends in the squad, as well as a quick flirtation with another young man. Due to Bring It On’s entry into pop culture during a time of little queer representation in film or television, his inclusion feels like a watershed moment ― especially in male queer representation.
